A Confession.....

Ok, if you know me well you already know this, but I strongly dislike summer and wait patiently for it to come to an end.  Summers back in Washington State or Hawaii I didn't mind, but on the East coast I'm downright miserable.

In an effort to feel grateful about the season that brings us so much, I've comprised a list of things I do like about summer.  Focus on the positives....right?  I'll remind the poor chickens as they pant in the hot summer sun.

Things To Like About Summer:
  • The beach (although, honestly, we don't visit the beach until Fall because we don't like the crowds)
  • Fresh veggies from the garden - especially those yummy tomatoes
  • It's lighter earlier (easier for chicken duty)
  • Grilled dinners
  • Wearing shorts
  • The sight and smell of flowers in bloom
  • Homemade ice cream
  • Fresh fruit - especially ice cold watermelon
  • Freshly mowed grass
  • Walking the boys thru the park
  • Wearing flip flops (so much better than "real" shoes!)
  • Walking thru Saratoga Springs on a summer evening
  • Shopping at the outdoor farmers market
Do you have things you love about summer?

Summer is my least favorite season too. I like Fall, Spring and Winter better. Nothing worse than being too hot. At least if it's cold you can wear more clothes or turn up the heat. In summer you only have two options, air conditioning or getting wet in a lake or pool. But your list does remind me of all the great things about summer, except for the wearing shorts. No one wants to see my flabby white legs.

I agree! I just love sweaters and count the days until the cool weather of Fall.

I'm the opposite. I love the warmth and (try) to wait patiently for winter to end so I can defrost.

Well you would love it here these past few months! It has been a true hot and humid summer.
