The weekend is just about to an end.
Above, you can see the project Jay is still working on.
Can't wait until I can show you an "after" photo!  I suppose if I'd quit coming up with add-ons he'd be finished quicker.
I'm famous for the "you know, I was thinking......".  So far he's agreed with all my thoughts.
He worked all weekend on building the new countertop and prepping the new beadboard.  The island was not originally built very strong, so he's rebuilding as he goes.

I went to work both Saturday and Sunday and worked the weekend away.
It's amazing how much you can get done when no one is there and the phone isn't ringing.
Unfortunately, this means my house is dusty and in need of vacuuming, the laundry is piled up, and the boys smell doggy.
But, I feel better about my "to do" stack at work.  It's still a stack, but a little more in control.

Saturday, before I went to work, Jay and I went to breakfast and then to our local Farmer's Market.
There's a new vendor - a guy who sells fresh seafood.  He catches it on Friday and sells it on Saturday.
You can see from the photo below, the scallops were unbelievably good!
Sweet, juicy, tender and just plain good {especially with a little sauce made from white wine and orange juice}.
I'm so happy to add a "fishman" to my list of favorite vendors.
He joins the "honeyman", the "cheeseman", the "milk and ice cream woman" and the "meatman".
Life is good!

The chickens are quite content.
The weather was nicer and the snow is beginning to melt.
They received treats of crushed hard boiled eggs and pancakes this weekend.  Yummy!

I made brownies tonight because they're quick, easy, and oh so yummy {recipe here}.
If you ever have an urge to make boxed brownies because they're quick, try this recipe instead.  You won't be sorry.

That was our weekend.  How was yours?

It is a long weekend where I live because Monday is a Public Holiday. Not that it makes much difference to me...every day is a holiday. :-) My daughter had a birthday yesterday so we enjoyed a family get together. Nice.

Sounds like you got a lot accomplished, which is always a good feeling. My weekend has been all about getting kids here.
