Weekend

Ahhhh.....a hot summer weekend.
The humidity has again settled in.
Makes for the dog {and cat} days of summer.

As you can see from the photo above, Emerson, Jackson and Oliver got some serious naps in this weekend.
Too hot to be productive.
That's what they tell me anyway.
Cait was upstairs in our her bed.

Poor Ollie still has a lump on his bum.
He had another one pop up on Thursday night.
Not sure what it is.
Possibly vaccination reaction.
The one on his bum makes it hard for him to get his little leg going.
I can only hope it goes away soon.

My garden shed shelves are up and it should be painted this week.
Hooray!

My garden is doing very well despite the heat and humidity.
I'm giving it lots of water.
I picked 2 medium zucchini on Saturday.
Perfect for Chocolate Zucchini Cake.
Yum.

Cukes are getting close.
In the meantime, I purchased some at the farmers' market for eating as well as for freezer pickles.
I've got lots of flowers on my green bean plants {photo above}, but not much to pick yet.

Emerson has chosen a favorite squash.
Every time we go outside he checks on his squash.
He could care less about the rest of the garden {except trying to eat corn stalks and sit in the melon patch}.
Funny how he remembers it.

Well, Jay's on to his next "honey-do" project.
He's expanding the back deck.
Those "honey-do's" just don't end do they?

How about you - how was your weekend?

Awwww... always love seeing your "crew" :) Much of the same going on here, as far as escaping the heat whenever possible. Poor Ollie.. those necessary shots can sometimes cause some minor complications. Love it that Emerson has his own squash.. lol.

My garden is not looking good.. but yours looks fantastic! Sounds like much progress on the garden shed. Can't wait to see it in all its painted glory. Have a fabulous week! -Tammy
