Gardening Area - Befores and After

I'm not sure why, but I wasn't very good at taking photos of the house and property prior to working on it.  But I wanted to share what I have of before, during and after photos of the garden area.

Photos 1 & 2:  The garden area was not raised when we moved in.  We found out quickly that the soil was not good and extremely rocky.  Rather than taking the time to amend the existing soil, we chose to add raised beds and bring in some compost and soil.  The initial expense turned out to be worth it as we were able to garden immediately.  You can also see the old chicken coop in photo #2.  That was torn down {too run down to re-use} and the garden shed was built in the vicinity.

Photo 3:  The start of the raised beds.

Photo 4:  This years garden and garden shed.

I love before and after photos. It is fun to watch what people do in their gardens. I was looking at our place yesterday...we just seem to have made a big mess. I hope it looks good once all the projects are in place. And of course the vegetable garden will look good soon with spring on the way here.

So nice and neat and well tended. I'm a garden "peeper". That person that slows down in front of your house as she drives by.

Still in love with the shed...you lucky girl!

Oh wow, I didn't realize you had done so much work! It looks beautiful, especially compared to the before. (I'm still jealous of your happy red shed, too. ;) )
