Off Duty

Jackson is a busy boy so when he's off-duty for a little while it's time to catch some serious zzzzz's.

Thankfully, it appears as though his days of stealing money are over.  He has also given up the interior decorating, however, moving my shoes around is still a big hit.

Eating definitely tops his list of "must do's" as he visits his food bowl what seems like every hour on the hour.  Cat food and dog treats are favorites.  For the dog treats he prefers Milo's Kitchen chicken meatballs, but doesn't mind crunching on a Mother Hubbard "Just Veggin'" bone either.  And he's not clean about it.  He always leaves crumbs so we know when he's helped himself to a snack.

Jackson is very lazy and very clumsy.  He might be clumsy because he's lazy and just doesn't care.  He will try to jump up on something as low as a bench and fall on the floor in a big pile.  No need in falling on your feet like most cats....that takes too much energy!  Nope.  Easier to give up all muscle control and land in a ball.

His dislikes these days are bags of pellets {these, apparently, are to be feared}, the hair dryer {not the noise, just the heat that blows from it} and being told "no".  He pretends he's temporarily deaf.  The deafness miraculously clears up, however, if you tell him "go ahead", "yes", "come and help me" or "want a cookie"?

His loves are cat food, shiny objects, shoes, cat food, being a helper, laying under the sheets when you're making the bed, cat food, boxes, his fluffy bed, oh, and cat food.

That's our crazy Jackson!

Aww, he is so sweet. We had a cat almost identical to him. Named CJ.

Umm, I hate to admit that my reason beyond the chickens and such, for joining your blog was because it was called "Cobble Hill". We have a "Cobble Hill" area not far from where we live and I thought you were from there. {blushing} But I love it all the same!

I love tabby cats. We have four here. 2 boys and 2 girls. The boys are quite funny and love to rough house. Usually in the middle of the night. I have one old female we call the ghost cause you never see her and our other little girl is our hunter. What a cutie your Jackson is. Sounds like he is full of fun as well.

Awww, he is cute and reminds me of my first and only pet I ever had, my cat Artie. Her face was very similar to his. My husband doesn't like cats at all =( so we will never have one.

Thanks for the wonderful comments - yes, he is quite the character. Wyomingstorygirl - that is so cute about your kids! Made me smile. Jackson loves attention, so he would be thrilled. Alone again...naturally, we're so glad you stayed with us even though we aren't down the street. :-)
