Tuesday's "Three"

3 Things I'm Happy About:

  1. Our mean neighbors are moving!!!  Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Their house is on the market at a very reasonable price so I have high hopes the moving truck should be pulling up any day.  We can't wait.  There's just some people in this world who aren't nice, and these 2, unfortunately, are exactly that.  To give a quick example, the husband met us at our new home, right after closing, to "lay down the law" of where his property line was and where ours was and who we should and shouldn't talk to in the {very small} neighborhood.  He also moved our mailbox on us during the closing, from the side street to the main street because he didn't like it there.  They then tried to get the power company to put a power pole in the middle of our easement and when the power company not only refused, but also called to let us know, then the husband built a stone wall across our easement one day while we were at work.  I could go on but I won't.......big smiles from us because they are out of here!!
  2. The heat and humidity are supposed to take a bit of a break toward the end of the week.
  3. Mama Claire hasn't been feeling well but she seems to be getting back to her old self.

3 Things I'm Currently Working On:
  1. Making soap.
  2. Making a new recipe of whipped body butter.
  3. Painting our bedroom table lamps.

3 Websites/Blogs I've Recently Found:
  1. Our Seasonal Table is full of amazing food photography.  What makes this site different is it's incorporation of recipes, food photography and tips & tricks on how the photo was achieved.
  2. The DIY projects at In My Own Style are, for the most part, very realistic.  Sorry, but some sites offer DIY's of projects I would never desire to do.  The project gallery is fantastic!
  3. What first brought me to Going Home To Roost was Chia Seed Jam.  Interesting, right?  But as I explored more and more of the site I truly enjoyed the whole darn thing.
Happy Tuesday!!

Staci, what a relief that your mean neighbors are moving! The past few months for us have meant crazy people trying to creep in on our nice quiet little lives.. lol. Couldn't put up w/ meanies either! What is wrong w/ some people anyway?! Sounds like your weather is much like ours - hoping for a break later in the week. I'm ready to try my hand at making soap (all I've made previously is laundry detergent). I'm thinkin' melt & pour might be a good easy place to start.I will add that I'm in awe over what your meanies have done, or tried to do since you've lived there. Wow is all I can say. Glad to hear your good news :) -Tammy

I'm glad that your neighbors are moving! I've been lucky and always had good neighbors, so I can't imagine how miserable it must be to have bad ones.

I wish we were getting a break in the heat, but seems like it's here to stay. Ugh!

Thanks Tammy and Tammy! :)

Tammy at Flat Creek - cold processed soap isn't nearly as hard as you'd think. I thought it would be as well. It just takes careful measurement and mixing.

Tammy at Our Neck Of The Woods - yes, we've always had nice neighbors too...until this house. It was so strange to deal with initially, but they've done awful things to everyone so I guess we're in good company with the rest of the neighbors. :) The entire street seems to be quite joyful about this.

Glad to hear the "mean" people are moving! I guess it takes all kinds. Looking forward to the new soap recipes, I have been wanting to attempt that myself (one day, one day).

We sold our house and moved because the neighbor would cut down trees damaged in storms, leave a 4-5 foot stump and dress them up like people. Seriously? What is wrong with people?? LOL

P.S. He named them Stumpy and Willow.

Hope you get some wonderful new neighbors! Seems like there is a bad apple or two in almost every neighborhood, but it's awful when they are right next door!

They are called "Neighbors from hell". Unfortunately, they are very common. Hope yours will be gone soon!
