Go Big Or Go Home

We have opted to go big.......

So, we've been plugging away at our little home-based business, Cobble Hill Farm Apothecary, for two years now.  We participate in one year-round farmer's market as well as run an online store.  We've been extremely fortunate with so much success and have struggled keeping up with it all.

We've been throwing ideas around about one of us leaving our jobs, jumping in, and making a go of the business.  That hasn't happened yet.

Until now.

J is leaving his job of 15 years and will be running the business full-time.  Woo hoo!!!!  We are so incredibly excited I can't even begin to tell you.  {little known fact:  this will only be his 3rd job he's had in 35 years!!}

No more running out of product every week.  No more making products until midnight weekdays and all day every Saturday.  This is great for us AND great for our customers.

We will now expand out into other retail venues, including more craft shows, and start picking up wholesale accounts again.  We are currently making wedding favor soaps by word-of-mouth only, I had to take the listings off of the Etsy store and our website because we just couldn't keep up.  All of that can go back on in just a few more weeks.

We have products we've been promising to get formulated and on the "shelves" {i.e. shampoo bars, facial moisturizers, serums, "beach hair" spray and facial toners} but because we can't keep up with our current line, we have been unable to add them.  We also have some private label products waiting for us to have the time to get to. This is all changing.  We hope to add more Holiday gift sets this year too.  He is going to be one BUSY man.

We have switched roles and J has become "President" while I have taken a backseat as "Vice President".  He will be creating all of the products and we will still, as a team, come up with the ideas and formulate them.  We will both be doing all shows, as we currently do, and he will hit the road from time-to-time to work with our wholesale accounts.  We are blessed to have some in the wings patiently waiting.  I will continue doing everything online as well as the marketing.

His demands of having an assistant before he works for the business full-time have been met - I've offered up Jack's services.  J just can't leave him in charge of any money.  :)

In celebration of all of this, we are holding a giveaway on our Apothecary facebook page {approved by the V.P......}.  We are giving away 2 - $30.00 gift certificates to our store {redeemable online OR at the farmer's market}.

We hope you'll enter!

{go to the facebook page or leave a comment on this post to enter/contest ends Wed. Aug. 12th at 8p.m. e.s.t.}
