Hot Ham & Cheese Rolls

I used a photo of this on Saturdays $60.00 a week post and I've heard from many of you requesting the recipe.  Here it is!!!

This is based on the recipe I found here.  The problem I had with that recipe was it was a bit too greasy for our liking.  Dumping a butter mixture over rolls that had cheese in them meant the rolls were swimming in a small pool of grease.  It was also a bit too sweet for my liking.  So I decided to still incorporate the yummy sauce, slightly altered, but smear it on the dough.  Just like a good old cinnamon roll.  With a bit less butter.

Hot Ham & Cheese Rolls
adapted from a recipe by Kevin and Amanda

1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 Tablespoon light brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
1/2 recipe pizza dough {our recipe is here}
3/4 pound deli ham {thinly sliced but not shaved ham}
12 slices thinly sliced cheese - provolone or swiss are favorites

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Coat a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray.

In a medium bowl, mix together {with spatula or wooden spoon} the softened butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.  Set aside.  Roll out pizza dough on lightly floured surface, to a 13x18 inch rectangle.  With a rubber spatula or butter knife, spread the butter mixture {careful to not tear the dough} over the dough from edge to edge.  Lay the cheese slices evenly over the dough and then the ham slices on top of the cheese.

Starting on the longer edge of the dough, roll it up tightly {just like cinnamon rolls}. Pinch the seams together tightly, then cut into 12 slices. Lay in prepared pan.

Bake uncovered 25-28 minutes, until hot, bubbly and lightly browned.  Let sit a few minutes then remove from the pan and serve.
