Weekend

I know I've haven't posted regularly in a bit but I'm back.  I've been severely sick twice, traveled for work a lot, traveled for my own business a little, and shoveled a lot of snow.  That about sums up the last month or two.  Joking of course.....

Here's what we've been up to around here.

We've received a bit of snow.  The chickens hated it, Oliver thought he may truly die if he walked in it, and Emerson rejoiced in the fact that he could walk, lower his head with his mouth open, and allow the snow to stack up in his mouth before he would stop, swallow, then start again. The guy just loves to eat!  He was not, however, a fan of being out in it while it was still snowing......

We went from snow to two 65 degree days on Friday and Saturday.  It was beautiful!!  I took the photos above on Saturday.  And then, Sunday it snowed again.

You can see that Jackson Naughty Pants made his way outside on Saturday.  He strolled right on the deck as if he belonged there.  I think he believed we'd see his confidence and momentarily forget he's an indoor cat.  No chance.  Although I let Oliver and Emerson pounce on him first (because Jack LOVES it) and then escorted him back inside.  Funny, he wasn't so interested in the deck on Sunday while it was snowing.

Our bathroom remodel has come to a halt because the business has picked up again months before it typically does.  That's a very good thing!  I'm hoping there will be time to devote to it in 2 weeks so we can just finish it up.  I like the paint color based on the bits of cutting in that did get completed.  It's a gray which can always be a risk since there are some very blue grays.  I did good and picked the right one.

J took our products to Union College a couple of weeks ago.  One of our regular customers works there and invited us last year to set up shop and we've felt so fortunate to be welcomed back again and again by the faculty and students.  It's a beautiful campus and he very much enjoys being there.  (He'll be back in April if you're local and reading this).

The Coop Girls are doing very well.  They are laying eggs regularly and are praised daily for that.  They have informed us they are not interested in squash anymore for a snack.  Nope - warm oatmeal, greens, mac & cheese and other leftovers are welcomed.  Bread and squash is not.  Don't birds usually like bread????

We stocked up with 2 more pallets of wood pellets making the assumption that we'll have more cold days than warm days for the remainder of winter and start of spring.  With the weather we had last week though who knows!

Hoping you had a lovely weekend too!

So glad you have finally recouped and that the furry boys are well and spunky. I love hearing about Mr. Naughty Pants, Jackson's escapades. Work has a way of getting in the way of the fun projects and even some not-so-fun ones! Wishing you continued success in your endeavors.

Your photos are just stunning! It sounds like you are through the worst of it though, health and otherwise. I hope your change in diet is keeping you well.
Looking forward to seeing the bathroom makeover.

Those pooches look mighty dapper in their winter jackets.

Hoping that spring finds you soon.

It is nice to see that the North East is getting some snow. Here in Nevada, it seems like it never stopped...

Glad to see you back :)
The snow always looks so pretty at your house. Maybe because if it's yours, I don't have to shovel?

Happy to hear my chickens aren't the only fussy ones. I keep reading about chickens that eat anything you throw in to them; in the meantime, I have to microwave their squash in the morning as it's the only way they'll eat it. Silly birds...
