Real Food Meal Plan - Week 5


If you’re just tuning in, this is an ongoing series in which I share our weekly meal plan as I (attempt) to convert us to a Whole/Real Foods lifestyle. I actually meal plan monthly but share it here weekly because it makes more sense to do so.  Meal planning is my way of controlling the grocery budget (read as a LOT of dollars saved), ensuring there is no food waste for the week, as well as saving time.  You can read more about meal planning here.

So I've found a vegetarian meal my husband will eat!!  Yahoo!!!  He LOVES the refried beans made by Amy's.  He has informed me that he would eat enchiladas, burritos, tacos, etc. made with the either the Amy's beans with green chilies or the Amy's black refried beans over those with meat.  These are the baby steps I've been looking for.....

Weekly Meal Plan:
Sunday
Breakfast - Granola + Milk (cashew - me; whole - J)
Lunch - Chicken & Rice Soup
Dinner - (me) Veggie Burger, (J) Grilled Chicken Burger, Baked Potato Bites, & Coleslaw

Monday
Breakfast - Oatmeal with Homemade Applesauce & Raw Almonds
Lunch - (me) Veggie & Wild Rice Soup; (J) Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Dinner - (me) Portobello, Beans & Greens on Toast, (J) Steak Tips, Mashed Potatoes & Spinach

Tuesday
Breakfast - Oatmeal with Homemade Applesauce & Raw Almonds
Lunch - (me) Veggie & Wild Rice Soup; (J) Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Dinner - Buddha Bowls

Wednesday
Breakfast - Oatmeal with Homemade Applesauce & Raw Almonds
Lunch - (me) Veggie & Wild Rice Soup; (J) Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Dinner -  (me) Creamy Pasta Primavera; (J) Pan-grilled Ham Steak, Mac & Cheese, and Broccoli

Thursday
Breakfast - Oatmeal with Homemade Applesauce & Raw Almonds
Lunch - (me) Veggie & Wild Rice Soup; (J) Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Dinner - (me) Black Bean & Kale Burger with salsa, (J) Salisbury Steak, Rice, Sauteed Cabbage

Friday
Breakfast - Oatmeal with Homemade Applesauce & Raw Almonds
Lunch - (me) Veggie & Wild Rice Soup; (J) Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Dinner - Refried Bean & Veggie Quesadillas, Mexican Rice and Grilled Veggies

Saturday
Breakfast - Pancakes
Lunch - Chicken Tortilla Soup
Dinner - Spaghetti & (J) Meatballs, Salad
