Meet The Crew

Staci
a.k.a.  mom of the crazy crew
likes: coffee, cooking/baking/creating, rainy days, Spring and Fall, gardening, chocolate, flip flops, lavender
dislikes: grocery shopping, clutter, humidity, critters eating my fruit and veggies before I can pick them

Jay
a.k.a. John; dad of the crazy crew
likes: eating the homemade food I work so hard at making, our annual visits to Rhode Island, golfing, days he gets to sleep in
dislikes: grocery shopping, Oliver's barking, doing dishes


Jackson
a.k.a.  trouble, pig-pen, Jackie, naughty boy and big boy
likes:  food {human, dog and cat food}, bed {preferably the real bed}, stealing money and shoes, galloping around the dining room table {we call it his victory lap}, dog treats {hates cat treats}, playing in the water in the sink, cuddling with us and terrorizing Caitlin.
dislikes: being told "no" {he pretends he is deaf}, when his cat food dish is less than half full {he paces}, baths {the towel-drying portion}, and closed windows or doors.





Caitlin
a.k.a.  Caity-bug, princess, and sis.
likes:  her princess bed, when Jackson is in time-out, when Jackson is yelled at {she gets very excited}and being petted.
dislikes:  Oliver and Emerson in her face, being told "no" {ears go back and she turns her back to you}, human food, loud noises, sharing, and Jackson biting her.





Oliver
a.k.a.  pip-squeak, Ollie, little man, stinky {true to the nickname}, troublemaker and big mouth {a whole lot of barking comes out of this guy!}.
likes:  treats, food, Cait, barking, putting himself in timeout {willingly does the time for the joy of committing the crime}, to play
dislikes:  Jackson sneaking up on him while he's sleeping {absolutely hates it}, the vacuum cleaner {seems to be a deep-rooted fear}, being told "no", and not getting his way.



 
Emerson
a.k.a.  chunky monkey, Em, Eminem, big boy, pork chop and big buns.
likes:  food, sleeping,being held, his work as my sous chef {takes it very seriously},
dislikes:  someone taking food away from him or not sharing food, being told "no", and Oliver's barking.





Lucy Lou
likes:  food - particularly mac and cheese
dislikes: when she doesn't get to go forage









Kessa
a.k.a. big mouth {she is super loud}
likes:  telling us off
dislikes:  when we don't actively listen {kneel down and make eye contact}






Little Lizzie
likes:  worms, bugs and anything she can catch before the other girls get it
dislikes:  when she is removed from the nesting box because she's broody









Mama Claire
likes:  being broody {about every 3 months}
dislikes:  laying eggs {no time too, she's always broody}








Emma Jean
likes:  when the other girls are nice to her
dislikes: nothing really - she's pretty easy going










Little Kathy
likes:  same as Emma Jean - when the other girls are nice to her
dislikes:  being held









Allie
likes:  food of any sort
dislikes:  exercise of any sort









Hattie
likes: rice and yogurt
dislikes: swiss chard










Betty
likes:  attention - being held and talked to
dislikes:  we haven't found it yet







Wilma
likes:  attention - loves being held and talked to
dislikes: really nothing. Wilma and Betty are the most laid back of all the girls.









Daisy Mae
likes: pasta
dislikes:  being held









Sarah
likes: yogurt with anything in it
dislikes:  days she can't go forage








Trudy
likes: dried mealworms
dislikes: kale or swiss chard









Renee
likes:  being grouchy and getting into everybody's business
dislikes:  cheerfulness










Sam
likes: stealing nesting boxes
dislikes:  being held

That's a little bit about all of us!  It's a crazy group full of personalities, and we wouldn't want it any other way.

Sarah - Mama Claire is an Araucana. She lays robin's egg blue eggs......when she isn't broody. :)

Staci - I love that you have named each of the chickens and know each of their personalities so specifically. I can't wait for the day that we can have some, in the meantime I am learning as much as I can. It seems that with chickens, you just have to set up everything the way you think it will work - and then figure out what really works for them :)
