Another busy weekend of craft shows.  One more craft show weekend to go - woo hoo!  Next weekend we're back in Glens Falls and then we're on hiatus for a bit.  Emerson and Oliver are bummed that our weekends are spent away.  Poor guys - they just want one relaxing day where we sit and drink coffee in the morning and spend time with them.  The good old days.  I'm with them.  I miss the weekend mornings where I wake up, take the boys out, then make a hot cup of coffee while they eat.  Together we watch the sun slowly light the property.  I love to go outside and listen to the Coop Girls chat about their daily treat and their plans for the day.  They are some busy girls!

We got a sprinkling of snow Friday night.  Not even enough to measure but enough to make everything sparkle and glisten this morning.  We were supposed to get 2-6 inches of wintry mix.  They are predicting snow tonight and I'm thinking we may be able to measure it this time.

The Coop Girls are just about finished molting.  Trudy is pulling up the rear and is just beginning to get her feathers back.  Poor girl.  Two of the newer Coop Girls are very naughty.  They are escape artists.  Chicken Deb and Chicken Danielle seem to think if the outdoor coop is closed, it's only closed to the others.  Not them.  So, they fly up and squeeze themselves through a small slit in the netting.  We took care of that problem tonight.  Tomorrow we're hoping they realize we know best.  Stay in when we aren't home so the neighbor's outdoor cat and the fox we've seen run through our yard can't get them.

I did not get my tree up.  Jack's pretty bummed.  He enjoys playing with all the ornaments I hang just for his amusement.  The wreaths are up, the holiday music is on, but the tree has yet to make it's appearance.  I'm going to try again this week.  Where does the time go??

I didn't even get any soup made, a weekly ritual I rarely break all fall and winter.  There's nothing better than a big bowl of soup and a slab of homemade bread on a cold day.

Hoping you are having a wonderful weekend!

When I first saw the thumbnail of the egg picture, I saw the light-patterns on the eggs but didn't know that was what it was, so I thought 'how do those chickens lay patterned eggs?!' as I've noticed they lay all different colours & sizes, so why not patterns too?

You and 'the girls' really are busy! But I know how you miss having time to just sit and enjoy it--It really is a premium this time of year, but I know you'll have it again very soon--The holidays are coming, ready or not!

Take care, and I hope you've enjoyed your afternoon!

The weekends spent at home will be so appreciated now that you are working all of your shows. Enjoy.

Such beautiful eggs! You have the prettiest eggs :) And I'm glad you'll be taking a break with the craft shows. It's good to be busy, but you need your time to rest up as well! We put up our tree with ornaments last night and all night long we heard Gizmo knocking ornaments off and breaking them. Silly me to think I could put glass ornaments on the tree!

Staci - all the photos are lovely as usual. Doing craft shows is a lot of work - I know, I did them for many many years. They can be fun too. I hope you had lots of sales. Snuggle with the furry babies!
I made a big pot of chicken noodle soup over the weekend, that is my go to comfort soup. We mostly had ice - yuck.
Stay warm.
