Tuesday's Three

3 Little Things I'm Grateful For Today:

1. Zucchini - every single year we have a plethora of zucchini and we work hard to keep up with it.  This year, for the first time ever, we have a much lesser amount.  Regardless of how much we've got, I love to use it in baked goods (like the Cinnamon Swirl Zucchini Bread above or our most popular recipe The BEST Chocolate Zucchini Cake).  It adds sooooo much moisture.

2. Alone Time - as an introvert my current lifestyle and career suit me perfectly.  Most days are spent on our homestead, just the two of us (and, of course, the critters) working and going about our day alone.

3. Quiet Mornings - I am up first since Ollie needs to get outside to do his business quite early.  After my animal chores I make our coffee and watch the birds and the chipmunks.  The silence allows me to listen to their unique chirps and calls.  Next I usually spend a bit of time reading and/or writing with Ollie at my side.  It's the perfect way to start the day.

2 - cars that work...a new starter in one, a new transmission in another: need I say more?
3 - blogs that inspire...so glad to have found like-minded folks enjoying the simple pleasures that I do!

  2. Love your three things this week. I made the Zucchini and Chocolate cake recipe from Downshiftology which was great - very sweet which we like. Have a good week. Kathy

  3. We have had the same issue with zucchini, despite re-planting. I actually had to pay for it at the farm stand! Thanks for the picture of your cinnamon swirl zucchini bread - we have enjoyed your recipe before and I have forgotten about it. Will add it to the list of things to bake this weekend.

  4. 1. Being raised with a good work ethic.

    2. Having discovered that sugar is not needed in sweet treats.

    3. A cushy bed that I love crawling into each night.
